AMUCO, NPP, others distribute relief items, safety kits

Imphal, July 05 2021:
All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), National People's Youth Front (NPYF) among others on Monday distributed relief items to the needy people, street vendors and frontline workers.
AMUCO in collaboration with All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) distributed edibles to 164 households in Salungpham, Lameithet and Thoubal Athokpam in Thoubal district on Monday.
In a release, AMUCO assistant secretary MM Thambou informed that the distribution programme was also participated by AMUCO president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang and AMAWOVA president Yumkhaibam Kunjarani.
So far, the organisation has been able to reach out to half of the targeted 10,000 needy households with the relief aid.
AMUCO also appealed to all to come forward and contribute in whatever way they could for helping the people during this dire time.
Meanwhile, in continuation of phase wise distribution programme, IRCS Imphal East District Branch on Monday distributed hand sanitizers to ASHA workers of Sawombung Primary Health Centre (PHC), Lamlai PHC, Yaingangpokpi PHC and Heingang PHC.
Speaking on the occasion, IRCS IE Branch chairman Narendra Ningomba hailed the ASHA workers for their work in health care especially during this Covid-19 pandemic.
The programme was also attended by IRCS volunteers Tokpam Dinesh, Laishram Kuber and Laishram Rajesh.
Similarly, under the joint aegis of National People's Party (NPP) Manipur president N Kayisii, deputy chief minister Y Joykumar, minister Letpao Haokip and MLA L Jayantakumar; NPYF Covid-19 Task Force provided masks and hand sanitizers to street vendors of Khurai Lamlong, New Checkon Tribal Market, Naoremthong and Singjamei on Monday.
The Task Force led by NPYF general secretary Salam Ashokumar and secretary Tolen Okram also raised awareness on the need for following the Covid-19 SOPs using loudspeaker.
On the other hand, M/s Joymati Pharmaceuticals, Guwahati proprietor Wahengbam Dineshchandra provided sodium hypochlorite, face masks, hand gloves, PPE, sanitizers to Youth Cultural Welfare Organisation (YCWO), Heinoubok.
LKYDA Club Covid 19 Warrior and Laipham Khunou Zilla Parishad ward members jointly distributed edibles to newly Covid-19 positive households of Laipham Khunou under Heingang AC.
Khomidok Athletic and Sporting Club (KASC) provided edibles for 60 households belonging to weaker sections of the society from Khabeishoi and Khomidok, a release by KASC said.
Meanwhile, chief medical officer Kakching Dr Thaodem Rajen on Monday distributed oxygen concentrators provided by District Health Society, Kakching as well as various other organisations to various Health Centres in Kakching district.
At the distribution programme held at his office, CMO Kakching allotted three oxygen concentrators each for Community Health Centre (CHC) Kakching and CHC Sugnu along with two oxygen concentrators each for Pallel, Hiyanglam, Kakching Khunou, Wangoo Laipham, Serou PHCs and Urban Primary Health Centre, Kakching.
On the other hand, Kakching Khunyai Leikai Covid Task Force formed under the aegis of Wabagai MLA Md Fajur Rahim organised an awareness programme along with distribution of face masks and hand sanitizers to families living in Kakching Khunyai Leikai as well as shops in Kakching
