Panic grips Mongkot Chepu in Ukhrul: KSO-U

Kangpokpi, July 05 2021: Kuki Students' Organization Ukhrul made a clarion call to one and all to desist from committing unwanted acts as panic gripped Mongkot Chepu following the unfortunate incident that took place on the night of July 4 .

The student body stated that the villagers of Mongkot Chepu were reeling from fear and tension after the unprecedented incident that occurred last night at around 9:30 pm, where shots were fired by unknown miscreants without any reason creating unnecessary tension in the village.

While making a clarion call to one and all to desist from unwanted elements and actions which have the potential to spark off communal conflagration and fuel tension in a multi cultural community land .such as Litan area, the Kuki Students Organisation Ukhrul District fervently appealed to those involved in the act not to repeat in the near future.

The Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Ukhrul, since its inception is opposed to any subversive act detrimental to maintaining communal harmony and those with the potential to create chaos & confusion in the district.

As such, KSO Ukhrul denounced the unwanted incident of Mongkot Chepu, it added.

It also appealed to all right-thinking denizens of the area to condemn such incidents which are a threat to peace and development and urged the perpetrators involved in the incident to shun violence.

The KSO Ukhrul District also called upon the concerned authority and law enforcing agency to maintain stringent checks on the movements of armed cadres so as to avoid further escalation of tension in Litan area and its adjoining villages.
