Mizoram police ready to act against HPC-D

The Mizoram police is prepared to act fast against state-based Hmar People's Council-Democratic ( HPC-D) outfit if the militant group tries to create unwanted atmosphere in the state disturbing peace and tranquility.
Intelligence report said that HPC-D has been planning to bomb important power line like Manipur to Mizoram, Loktak Hydel Project and bridges along the NH-54 connecting Aizawl from Silchar.
The militant group is targeting to destroy important places in Aizawl, said police department.
In this regard the police department is planning to act against the militant group if they try to indulge in any unlawful activities so that the peaceful state is in danger.
Meanwhile, a flag march covering most of the villages in HPC-D 'Demand Area' was conducted by the Mizoram police on Friday.
Mizoram Home Minister, R.Lalzirliana said, the objective of the flag march was to create peaceful atmosphere and mutual trust among the people of the area.
"Through thiese flag marches we attempt to convey a message to all, including unlawful elements the futility of threat and intimidation by the Mizoram-based militant group", said home minister.
DIG Northern Range Mr Zorammawia said, the flag march was arranged in Vairengte, Saipum and Saiphai village and was supervised by Kolasib SP, Madhur Verma and the Commandant, H.Lalchhuanliana, while the flag march in Darlawn, Sakawrdai area was supervised by Aizawl district SP, Lalbiakthanga Khiangte and the 1st Battalion MAP, C.Laldina in Vanbawng, Khawlian, in NE Khawdungsei and Suangpuilawn area the flag march was supervised by senior Police Officer of Champhai DEF and the 2nd IR Battalion in Khawzawl.
Meanwhile, the DIG Northern Range said, most of the police deployed personnel today will be withdrawn after completion of the flag march.
However, some of them will remain in the area to observe the situation.
