RK Imo, Cong MLAs likely to join BJP

As the election to the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly approaches and politicians are changing sides to find a more secure seat, Sagolband MLA RK Imo along with three other Congress MLAs are also likely to join BJP on Monday.
Sources said that BJP national leaders would be felicitating the new Congress defectors in New Delhi on Monday.
The four MLAs are already in the national capital and they have met BJP national president JP Nadda and home minister Amit Shah.
However, BJP has not disclosed names of the three other Congress defectors.
On the other hand, another source said that apart from MLA RK Imo, Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai, Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan, Tengnoupal MLA DK Korungthang, Saikul MLA Yamthong Haokip and Karong MLA DD Thaisii are likely to join BJP soon.
While the report of RK Imo joining BJP on Monday has been confirmed, reports of the others are yet to be confirmed, the source added.
In another development, intending candidate in Wangjing Tentha A/C, Usham Manglem, who was the former state coordinator of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC), joined the National People's Party (NPP) on Sunday.
A welcoming ceremony attended by NPP national president Conrad Sangma and other party leaders including state NPP youth president Laitonjam Jayananda was held in New Delhi on Sunday evening.
Speaking at the ceremony, Conrad Sangma lauded Usham Manglem for believing in regionalism and the visions of NPP for development of north east states.
He appealed to all party workers to strengthen the party and spread its ideologies with join efforts.
