Imphal, November 07 2021:
Three Star Finance, which is being operated by Yumkhaibam Pibaton and his wife Sandhyarani from Uripok Polem Leikai near Ibotonsana School, continues to be embroiled in more issues.
One of the issues is the dispute between the husband-and-wife duo and another couple, Salam Iboyaima and his wife Saikhom Mandakini Chanu of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai, wherein latter has hurled various allegations against Yumkhaibam Pibaton and Sandhyarani, including molestation charges.
Thus, People's Action for National Democratic Movement (PANDM) has urged for all concerned to help in resolving the issue.
In a statement, PANDM secretary (IPR) Rosnikanta Takhelcha said that an innocent girl had been tangled in a private-money laundering case.
If the allegations of molestation are indeed true, then the person(s) responsible should be punished accordingly.
It is unfortunate to have such a heinous crime committed upon a minor, who is also differently-able, and as such, no mother will stay silent if something like this happens to her child.
However, it is still questionable how an incident which allegedly occurred in 2019 was reported only now, especially in the light of the ongoing case.
As POCSO Act has been mentioned, the issue of age is important.
But, regardless of whether the victim was minor/adult, if the crime was really committed, then the perpetrator should be given the punishment deserved.
If no crime had occurred, then the complainant will receive the punishment for reporting a fake crime.
"According to Aadhaar copy submitted by the victim s mother at the time of the incident in 2019, the age of the victim was 18 years and 6 months when she was brought to the hospital.
In addition, the Disability Certificate provided by Medical Board for Issue of Disability Certificate, Medical & Health Services, Government of Manipur and certified by three specialist doctors and the chairman, also showed the victim's age as 18 years and 6 months.
PANDM believes that the competent court will judge, what is true or not," Rosnikanta said, while adding that the body is merely highlighting the findings from the Court and the government departments concerned.
"Although women should be respected at the highest level, the truth would be revealed much sooner if investigation is conducted by considering the prima facie report evidence for any complaint received.
POCSO Act is a powerful Act for the women, but there are cases of innocent men who have become victims of this law.
The Court will be the overall authority to ensure justice is served.
Meanwhile, many micro-finances initially begin with the aim of alleviating poverty and sharing joint profits.
However, often times, it is becoming the leading cause behind bankruptcy.
SHGs and small investment groups are means of providing self-employment but it is not unusual to see them crumble due to a single error," the secretary remarked.
Rosnikanta continued: "We need to be careful of social media at this day and age as there is possibility of fake news being circulated as real news without any authentication.
Such acts could affect, even destroy the lives of people who are living honestly and respectfully.
It is important to learn to forgive and forget.
However, what is more important is to keep aside our emotions and try to solve the issues with a rational mind, provided the solution is satisfactory to all the parties involved" .
