Imphal, November 07 2021:
CPM Manipur State Council Secretary Kshetrimayum Shanta has revealed that left parties along with likeminded political organisations will form a United Front in order to defeat the BJP in the 2022 election to the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
He was attending the observance of October Revolution organised by Left Parties at Irawat Memorial Library, Shantipur, Sanjenbam in Imphal East district on Sunday.
Speaking at the event, Shanta recalled how Lenin brought out April Thesis and formed a United Front to launch the historic October Revolution in Russia.
Similarly, left parties along with likeminded parties will form a United Front to defeat BJP in the state, he revealed, while adding that relevant initiatives have begun to chalk out steps and strategies for the Front and actual work will begin shortly after bringing out a common agenda.
CPI Manipur State Council secretary L Sotinkumar said that October Revolution brought drastic changes in different countries and several socialist countries have become developed.
This, he said, is a precious gift from Lenin to the world while contending that several Latin American and Asian countries are also adopting socialism.
In India too, CPI-M is ruling in Kerala, which is one of the most developed states, he said and stressed the need for like-minded parties to unite and fight for a better society.
Manipur Library Association president Kangjam Chaoba, RSP secretariat member Kangjam Manoranjan and Laishram Gojen also attended the commemorative event as presidium members.
