Ningol Chakkouba Festival celebrated

Indigenous Minority Socio-Culture Organisation, Manipur; Indigenous Minority Organisation, Manipur; United Peoples' Front; Haomee Research Guild, Manipur; National Identity Protection Council and MAPI Council jointly celebrated Ningol Chakkouba Festival with womenfolk of both the hills and the valley at the premises of Ima Kunthokhanbi Thougal Marup, Thangmeiband College Gate here on Saturday.
Indigenous Minority Socio-Culture Organisation, Manipur president Momsokam Bapui; Indigenous Minority Organisation, Manipur president Medun Maring; UPF president N Rupachandra; Haomee Research Guild chairman Robin Singlai attended the event as presidium members.
As part of the function, the gathering enjoyed a scrumptious feast.
Later, men folk presented gifts to womenfolk to mark the festival of Ningol Chakkouba.
On the other hand, All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) celebrated Ningol Chakkouba Festival with womenfolk from various communities at Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School on Saturday.
The celebration was attended by AMESCO president BK Moirangcha and Kyamgei GP ex-pradhan Shanta along with others.
Troops of Assam Rifles under IGAR (South) also celebrated the festival with children and staff of various orphanage homes in Manipur on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), to commemorate the festival of close bond between brothers and sisters, gifts along with sweets and essentia] items were presented to the children and staff of orphanage homes namely Tabitha (Imphal West), Little Drops Orphanage Home, Hnatham in Chandel, Jehovah Jireh Children's Home in Moreh and Ema Foundation, Longa Koireng.
The auspicious occasion was celebrated in keeping with the universal humanism message of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (World is One Family), the PRO said.
