PM for coverage of all under welfare schemes: Prahlad Patel

Imphal, September 19 2022: Highlighting different welfare schemes introduced by the NDA government, union minis ter for food processing industries Prahlad Singh Patel has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is targeting full coverage of all eligible beneficiaries under these welfare schemes so that nobody is left behind.

Prahlad Patel visited a free health check up camp organised under Seva Pakhwada campaign in relation with the 72nd birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held at Irom Meijrao under Wangoi assembly constituency on Monday.

BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, Rajya Sabha MP and titular king of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba, health minister Dr Sa pam Ranjan, former minister & BJP Manipur Pradesh vice - president O Lukhoi, vice president Ch Chidananda, general secretary P Premananda, secretary K Inaocha and BJP Imphal West president Phony Meitei accompanied the union minister.

Interacting with the public, Prahlad Singh Patel highlighted the different welfare schemes and their benefits such as electricity connection, cooking gas connection, health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per annum and household pipe water connection among others.

He said that the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to ensure full coverage of all the eligible beneficiaries by all these schemes so that nobody is left behind in bringing a new India.

The visit of union ministers in different parts of the country is to identify the needs of that particular state and region in order to issue necessary advisory to the state governments concerned to take up necessary actions for addressing the issues while also for extending assistance from the Centre wherever necessary.

He also mentioned about the target of the Central government to eradicate TB from the country by 2025 and relevant initiatives being taken up in this regard.

Dr Ranjan emphasised on the benefits of Chief Minister's Health for All scheme, which has been able to detect major lifestyle diseases and non-communicable diseases among the general public across the state.

Informing that so far, the health department has been able to detect 2521 cases of hypertension and 396 cases of diabetes among people above 18 years of age during screenings conducted in different parts of the state, Dr Ranjan said that all of these patients were unaware of their condition until the screenings were conducted.

The scheme has been able to provide timely treatment to these patients, he added.
