Bomb at COHSEM Chairman's gate

Imphal, June 15 2014:
A Chinese hand grenade was found planted by unidentified miscreants at the residential gate of Dr Hamom Nabachandra, Chairman of Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM), who is also the president of AMMIK, at Kwakeithel Thouda Bhabok Keikai in Imphal West district at around 8.10 am today.
Reports said the bomb which was kept concealed inside a plastic toy was found by family members who immediately informed the police.
Later, a bomb expert team of Imphal West police came and retrieved the bomb.
Police have registered a case and investigation is going on.

Meanwhile, condemning planting of the bomb, Kwakeithel Thouda Bhabhok Leikai Chaokhat Thourang Lup; AMMIK along with Kwakeithel Thouda Bhabhok Leikai Apunba Nupi Lup jointly staged a sit-in-protest in front of the residential gate of the Chairman later today.
Speaking to media persons, N Sushila, member of Kwakeithel Thouda Bhabhok Apunba Nupi Lup, said that planting of bomb at civilian places is an act of cowardice which is highly condemnable and added that the bomb threat has came as a surprise as no monetary demand had been served to the family by any organization.
She further demanded the concerned organizations to clarify on why the bomb threat was carried out.
