BSEM Chief stresses on strong foundation in school education for success in life

Chairman of Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM), P Dhanakumar today emphasized the importance of thorough foundation in school education and called on all young students of the State to have a clear understanding of the concept of learning.
Participating in a meritorious award distributing function at Lamlai High School, Imphal West, Dhanakumar said students should not study only for obtaining higher marks in examination because the most important thing they need to learn while studying is the clear concept of learning to have a deep and thorough foundation.
He said Indian students have been unable to enter the international arena of competition in education and hence they still need to work harder.
The BSEM Chairman further said students with good school foundation will do better for the society while those who indulge in cheating during exams will not last long.
Dhanakumar also said the right conduct of exam is maintained in Kakching in Thoubal district and Churachandpur district while comparing to other districts of the State and because of this many students from these districts are often turned out to be successful candidates in UPSC exam.
W Chandrakumar, Additional Director (Valley), Education (S) and M Angamba, president, DESAM were also present at the event.
Awards were given to a total of 58 meritorious students who got higher marks in HSLC and Higher Secondary exams 2014 besides two AIPMT selected candidates of Lamlai constituency.
The function was jointly hosted by DESAM units of Biramangol College, Lamlai High School, Shabungkhok and Nongren.
