Legal literacy Programme

Manipur State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with Anal Naga Students' Union Chakpi Branch and Human Rights Initiative Manipur organised a one-day Legal Literacy and Awareness Programme at Tribal Market Shed at Chakpikarong in Chandel district today.
Chandel CJM W Tonen Meitei, who is also the Secretary of Chandel District Legal Service Authority and Rungchang Village Chief NL Wangam attended the programme as chief guest and president repetitively.
W Tonen while speaking at the programme highlighted the objectives of the legal services authority and spoke on legal aid and fundamental rights.
Executive Director of Human Right Initiative W Joykumar spoke on Right to Food, NREGA and Tribal Rights while Advocate Th Rajakishore put light on the Right to Information, Right to Education and Domestic Violence Act.
The programme was attended by about 150 people representing chiefs, pastors, women and student body leaders.
OC of Chakpikarong Police Station, Binoy Singh was also present at the programme.
