AMCTA appeals Govt for immediate fulfilment of demands

Imphal, June 29 2019:
The All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) Executive Committee Saturday held a meeting at Oriental College and has decided to pursue the Government for immediate fulfilment of its demands including implementation of revised 7th UGC Pay Scale and pending allowance - SCA and TA, said a statement of the teachers association.
It may be noted that AMCTA had already submitted a 10-point charter of demands on February 14, 2019.The meeting decided to urge the Government of Manipur to fulfil the genuine demands of AMCTA without further delay.
The meeting also called on the college teachers of the State to get involve actively in every steps taken up by AMCTA in the matter, it said.
The AIFUCTO (All India Federation of University and College Teachers' Organisations) had on May 19, 2019 urged the Government to implement the revised 7th UGC pay scales supporting the demands of AMCTA, said the statement.
Meanwhile, AMCTA president, M Lokendro Singh and vice president, Dr Th Nabachandra Singh will be attending meetings of the AIFUCTO-NEC and JFME (Joint Forum for Movement on Education) on July 14 and 15 respectively in New Delhi.
They will share their views on the Draft National Education Policy 2019 (NEP) in the meetings, said AMCTA.
