Imphal, July 12 2012:
The United Committee Manipur (UCM) has launched various forms of agitation in Imphal in support of the demand for the enforcement of Inner Line Permit System in the State spearheaded by the Joint Committee on ILPS.
UCM members today staged a sit-in at Keishampat Lairembi.
Later, the protestors marched towards Chief Minister Bungalow to submit a memorandum.
However, police tried to prevent the protestors from taking out the rally at Keishampat Lairembi.
After a stiff resistance, the protesters managed to cross the Keishampat Bridge and raised slogan while marching towards the CM Bungalow.
Nontheless, a six-member delegation of the UCM led by its adviser, RK Ranendrajit were allowed to enter the Bungalow and hand over the memorandum.
