NABARD, Regional office celebrates anniversary

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Manipur Regional Office Thursday celebrated its 30th anniversary at the Manipur Press Club.
NC Pani, DGM, NABARD, Manipur Regional Office, Mololith, Chairman, Manipur Rural bank, Kh Somendro, Principal, Institute of Co-operative Management, SV Nemlekar, GM & OIC among others attended the event.
Speaking on the ocassion, NC Pani said NABARD, Manipur Regional Office which was set up in the year 1982 has provided various facilities like Kishan credit flow promotion and development of agriculture, small-scale industries, cottage and village industries, handicrafts and other rural crafts.
He also said currently the NABARD is working with 500 self-help groups and a few NGOs, informing that the Kishan Credit Card system has also been provided to them.
Kishan Credit Card is a pioneering credit delivery innovation for providing adequate and timely credit to farmers under single window, with flexible and simplified procedure, adopting whole farm approach, including the short-term credit, medium term and long term credit needs of the borrowers for agriculture and allied activities and reasonable component for consumption needs.
NABARD has its DDM office at Churachandpur district.
NABARD Manipur RO has alloted remaining eight districts among District Development Managers, DDM (R) entrusting the responsibility of preparation of potential Link Credit Planning.
