Imphal, July 12 2012:
In the wake of unresolved case of June 21 incident and subsequent bandh/blockade imposed by the Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) along the NH-2, the Naga People's Organization (NPO) has urged the State Government to immediately resolve the matter without delay.
Stating that the unfortunate and inhuman way of drugging and executing criminal act in broad day light in Senapati District is condemnable by all sections of community, a statement issued by the president of NPO ML Markson said the long delay of the Manipur Government and authorities concerned in solving the issue has provoked SAYO to react.
Reacting and bursting out in the ongoing Manipur Assembly by certain MLAs without efforts/suggestions to resolve the matter has not resulted in any positive outcome but in creating public inconveniences along the NH-2 .
The NPO, while extending solidarity to those victims and SAYO, appeals for early settlement of the issue.
The NPO also extended appreciation and lauded the contribution and performance of the present SP of Senapati, Pushpanjali, IPS in recent months.
Since her posting in the District, many criminal acts have been busted and cracked under her administration.
Cracking the rape case of a minor girl, rescue of 2 abducted women, rescuing tractor drivers, rescuing of minor boys from human trafficking and improvement of law and order situation in the District has been some important history of her administration.
While extending co-operation and collaborative initiatives to collectively curb anti-social elements in the District, the NPO also appealed the Deputy Commissioner and SP Pushpanjali, IPS to intervene into the present impasse of SAYO and Manipur Government to settle the matter at the earliest.
