IGAR (South) greets on Independence Day

On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, Major General Alok Naresh, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and all ranks of Assam Rifles extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur.
The General exhorted all citizens to reminisce with gratitude and deep reverence the sacrifices of freedom fighters in pursuit of gaining freedom and founders of our nation in establishing a republic, said a statement of IGAR(S).
On this important day, he called upon citizens from all walks of life to work together towards creating an inclusive society instilled with nationalism, compassion and forbearance that promotes peace and harmony in the State.
He also called upon the youth to re-dedicate themselves to the society with a firm resolve to eschew violence and intolerance in all forms and make our great republic, an abode filled with love, peace and tranquility.
May the lord almighty bless all so that we may move forward with renewed energy and vigour to achieve the common goal of Nation's progress, he added.
