44 AR organises MAA wellness camp

Tamenglong, August 13 2021:
44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector AR/IGAR (East) in collaboration with Tamenglong Students Federation conducted a MAA wellness camp in Old Tamenglong on August 13 .
The MAA or Medical Administrative Assistance camp was especially aimed at extending medical care to the expecting mothers, new mothers and their children, said a statement of PIB Defence Wing.
It is a helping hand extended by the battalion while celebrating Independence Day with the civilian as Jan bhagidari.
The MAA wellness camp was inaugurated by the Commandant, Tamenglong battalion.
A team of 5 doctors, including two specialists from District Hospital and 8 Paramedical staff were present for the service of the people.
The battalion also established a medical testing laboratory with basic blood and urine testing facilities for the benefit of all.
These testing facilities were made available to the beneficiaries free of cost.
The event was highly welcomed by the locals as a total of approximately 250 villagers benefited from the wellness camp.
On the sidelines of this camp, a Covid vaccination stall was also established by the battalion to administer on the spot vaccination to beneficiaries.
A Covid awareness stall with informative posters, banners and cutouts was also put to spread awareness about CAB and ongoing vaccination drives in the area.
The Commandant, 44 Assam Rifles paid floral tributes to Rani Gaidinliu, a great freedom fighter from the district.
He also thanked all the mothers of the society for their immense role and sacrifices for their family.
He urged all the ladies of the Tamenglong to come forward in all spheres of life and march shoulder to shoulder with men.
He also called upon men to nurture the dreams and aspirations of the ladies of the family.
He further stressed the role of a healthy mother in upbringing a healthy family.
He called upon the youth to constructively contribute towards nation building and usher a new era of peace and development in the region.
