Teachers don black badges in protest for 7th Pay

Thoubal, April 27 2022:
Primary teachers of Government schools wore black badges to work on Wednesday in a symbolic protest against the non-implementation of 7th pay commission for teachers under Education (S) by the State Government.
Speaking to media persons, United Primary Teachers' Association Manipur (UPTAM) general secretary, Salam Bibatsu stated that 7th Pay Commission has been implemented in most of the department of State Government since 2019 .

He appealed to the Government to consider the suffering of the teachers with the increasing price of essential items and initiate appropriate measures at the earliest.
Elaborating on the roles of teachers in shaping the future of younger generations and more recently during the Covid pandemic and election, Salam Bibatsu urged the Government to not discriminate against the teachers.
He further announced that the teachers will continue their democratic agitation until their demands have been fulfilled by the Government.
