Imphal, April 27 2022:
Manipur Technical University Students' Adhoc Committee has condemned as unwarranted and irrational frequent disparaging remarks by All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) in the affairs of the varsity and advised the latter to abandon its ulterior objective to demoralise the administrators.
In a statement, Adhoc Committee convenor Md Usman Gani denounced the alleged propaganda being spread against VC Dr Bhabeswar Tongbram, and pointed out that the VC was appointed by a Search Committee with due compliance of prescribed norms.
As such, the claim of AMMSO that his (VC's) appointment was done unfairly is to defame the institution, he contended.
Under the guidance of the new VC, who is an experienced person having technical background, several initiatives have been taken up like never before for the de velopment of university and the welfare of the students pursuing technical courses.
Ihe students of the varsity are also witnessing the developmental changes taking place in the varsity.
Thus, it is irrational of AMMSO which is an organisation not based on technical background, to act or comment against the university.
All the hindrances given by AMMSO in the functioning of the university should be stopped, he demanded.
Pointing out that non-recognition by AICTE, supply of low quality equipment and failure to get UGC 12 B are some of the pending activities; Usman Gani maintained that they would be elated if AMMSO looks into such matters.
Urging AMMSO to stop spreading misinformation about the new VC Dr Bhabeswar, he cautioned of launching protest against the organisation if such hindrances continue.
He further drew the attention of the government to look into the matter and take actions in case AMMSO continues to defame the VC or undermine activities of the university.
