Imphal, March 16 2019:
The All Tribal Rights Protection Forum Manipur (ATRPFM) has appealed to all concerned to ensure a free and fair MP election.
A press release issued by the ATRPFM mentioned that everyone has the right to elect the candidate of his or her choice and added that without free and fair election, it won't be possible to produce good and competent politicians.
The voters must be free to make their choice without fear and intimidation and all political parties shall have equal rights to campaign for support and hold meetings and rallies.
It then claimed that the term of the previous MP, Thangso Baite expired without any noteworthy development for the Constituency and for the tribals and added that ATRPFM and the tribals will not give another chance to such an incompetent person to become a representative of the people in Parliament.
ATRPFM appealed all the responsible civil organisations, clubs, party workers, leaders, candidates and citizens to ensure the 17th Lok Sabha election is free and fair.
ATRPFM further assured that it would extend moral support to the candidate who has genuine concerns for tribal communities residing in the State.
It then conveyed best wishes to all the candidates of the ensuing election.
