Meeting for farmers, AWWs and teachers held

As part of Poshan Pakhwada celebration, District Agriculture Department, Chandel and District Administration, Chandel in collaboration with ICDS, Chandel conducted a one-day farmer's, anganwadi workers and teachers meeting on drumstick plantation and kitchen garden today.
Several local farmers, AWWs, teachers and community members took part in the programme which was conducted mainly to promote drumstick plantation and setting up of kitchen garden at the Anganwadi centres and schools.
Speaking at the event, Krishna Kumar, DC of Chandel urged the farmers to inculcate the habit of kitchen gardening.
He also distributed seeds to the ICDS departments and farmers for kitchen gardening.
Ts Gladney Monsang (DAO, Chandel) and Dearson Tontang (Swasth Bharat Prerak, Chandel) talked about the importance and the benefits of having a kitchen garden while S Sugmangal SMS, PDG, KVK, Thoubal stressed on "How to set up a good and nutritious kitchen garden".
Dr Khumlo Levis, ACTO (Agronomy), KVK, Chandel also talked about the different techniques of drumstick plantation.
The programme was also attended by Sr Judith Kolni (BTM), ATMA, BD Hopeson from Agriculture department Chandel; Ranjit Singh, DPO (ICDS, Chandel); Meba Maring, CDPO (ICDS, Chandel) and Matha Saka, Supervisor (ICDS, Chandel) .
