Two day coaching course kicks off

With a view to promote football in the State, a two day coaching course on 'Premier skills introduction to community coaching' for coaches kicked off at the community hall of Lake View hotel in Moirang Lamkhai today.
Organised by AMOFA Academy Moirang under the aegis of British Council Premier Skills India, the inaugural event was attended by AFC Instructor S Ekendro, Arjun Awardee O Bembem, AMOFA Academy Moirang secretary H Sotojit as dignitaries.
British Council Premier Skills India instructors Joao Rebello and Sham Gauli will provide coaching to 24 coaches including eight women coaches from different parts of the State.
The instructors will provide necessary trainings on new techniques and skills including those which are practised in the Premier League, reports our correspondent.
The two day coaching course comprise of two sessions each where theory classes will be conducted during the morning session while practice/practical classes will be conducted during the evening sessions.
Theories on how to become a good coach, kinds of coaching style, right method of imparting training to students etc, will be discussed during the theory classes.
Meanwhile, effective warm ups, dribbling and passing etc will be carried out during the practical sessions.
Speaking on the occasion, AMOFA Academy Moirang secretary H Sotojit maintained that the two course is part of the three months training programme initiated by British Council premiere Skills India in the country.
He maintained that the course is being held for the very first time in Manipur even though it is the concluding event of the 3 months training programme in India adding that coaching course will help many eligible and professional coaches in the State.
