RBI's Financial Literacy Week kicks off

Financial Literacy Week (FLW) 2022 organised by Reserve Bank of India was kicked off today at an event held at the Conference Hall of RBI Office located at Thangmeiband Lilasing Khongnangkhong.
It may be noted that the Financial Literacy Week will be observed from February 14-18, 2022 .
Giving the keynote address, General Manager and Officer-In-Charge of RBI, Imphal Mary L Guite stated that RBI has been conducting FLW every year since 2016 to propagate financial education messages on relevant themes.
The FLW 2019, FLW 2020 and FLW 2021 were focused on 'Farmers', 'MSMEs' and 'Credit Discipline and Credit from formal institutions' respectively, she shared.
She further informed that the theme for this year's FLW is 'Go Digital, Go Secure', which aligns with one of the strategic objectives of the National Strategy for Financial Education: 2020-2025 .
The three messages for this year's FLW are convenience of digital transactions, security of digital transactions and protection to customers, she added and continued to say that RBI has developed content in the form of posters and audio-visuals on these messages.
Banks have been advised to disseminate information and create awareness among its customers and public on the above theme by displaying posters that have been developed by RBI on their websites, ATMs, mobile applications and digital display boards deployed in their branches, Mary L Guite further said.
On top of this, she added, RBI will be undertaking a centralized mass media campaign during the months of February and March this year to broadcast essential financial awareness messages on this theme.
The event was also attended by Assistant Director, Institutional Finance, Govt of Manipur, head officers of NABARD, SBI and PNB.
Further, posters in connection with FLW were also released as a part of the event.
