They then went to the residence of Nganthoiba, another friend of Raghuchand at Oinam Mamang Yumnam Leikai.
Nganthoiba told them that Raghuchand had telephoned him asking to pick him up from Leimaram Water Fall.
He went to pick up Raghchand driving a car but had to return from Waroiching Makhong after VDF personnel posted there did not allow him to proceed further as he was driving without proper vehicle document.
The family members then filed a report with Nambol Police Station.
Later, it was known that Nganthoiba had gone up to Leimaram Water Fall after letting him go by the VDF personnel from the check post.
Meanwhile, taking strong exception to the killing, a public meeting was convened at Oinam Keithel and formed a joint action committee christened as JAC Against the Killing of Raghuchand with Nongthombam Suchindra as its convener.
The JAC has pledged that it will not accept the dead body until police nabbed the culprit (s) involved in the brutal killing.
A sit-in-protest was also staged at Oinam Keithel today protesting the inhuman killing of Raghuchand, who was a bachelor.
Meanwhile, reports said police have pulled up four suspects for interrogation in connection with the killing.
