'President, secy of JAC removed'

The president and secretary general of the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Union' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) were removed from their respective posts after the duo were found misusing the JAC's fund.
In a press meet held today at the office of the JAC located at Babupara, secretary (Administration) of the JAC, RK Basumani informed media persons that the apex body of employees, workers and pensioners of Manipur State Government, had to take the drastic step of removing the president Dr M Rajendra after the Executive Council held a meeting on Oct 14 found the president (Rajendra) guilty of misusing the funds of the JAC.
He was instructed to discontinue utilization of the Council's letter head, Basumani added.
He also said that the president of the JAC can be removed if 2/3rd majority of the executive council voted against him.
The council has 29 members out of which 21 are against him.
The president in-charge of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO B Ghanashyam added that the secretary general of the JAC Purujit Lairikyengbam was also removed from his post after he was also found misusing the JAC's fund.
The Executive Council meeting also resolved to clarify that there is division in the apex body of employees, workers and pensioners of Manipur State Government.
He added that the JAC will continue to press further to the State Government unless their demands are fulfilled, he added.
