PPCM to take up price rise issue with Govt

Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) held its fourth annual conference on Tuesday at its head office, Waheng Leikai.
During a press meet PPCM convener Dr Y Mani Khuman said that prices of essential commodities in market have increased in the State and the committee will submit a report in this regard to Manipur Government soon to look into the issue.
Appealing to the people not to call any bandh or economic blockade before the Ningol Chakouba festival, Y Mani also urged all traders not to hike prices of daily essential commodities in the name of bandhs and blockade.
A Consumer Affairs Committee formed by executive members of PPCM will start checking prices of essential commodities in the market before Ningol Chakouba, said Dr Mani Khuman.
He said that Mobilization Committee, Manipur Ethnic Economic Development Committee, Finance Committee, Highway Development Committee and Publicity Committee were formed to look into the public matters.
Various leaders from different Civil Society Organisations also attended the annual conference.
