4th death anniversary observed

The 4th death anniversary of Rozer Irom was observed today by family members and friends at Ghari, Airport road, where he was shot dead four years ago.
Former member of Manipur Human Rights Commission RK Rajendro and AMWJU president W Shamjai attended the function as chief guest and president respectively.
Th Ibopishak, State Chief Commissioner of Manipur State Scouts and Guides, O Yaima, general secretary of AMGO, L Memchoubi, president of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur and RK Tharaksana, president of WAFSED were also present at the occasion as guests of honour.
Speaking at the occasion, RK Tharaksana said that time has come for the political leaders to realise that people are no more able to bear their atrocities.
She urged the general public to collectively demand the Government to retain the rule of law.
In his speech, RK Rajendro said that justice delayed is justice denied.
Questioning the authority concerned why the case has taken so long to be taken to its logical conclusion, RK Rajendro said that people must not encourage gun culture in the State.
L Memchoubi said that a memorial stone in Rozer's name must be erected at the area so that people remember the incident.
O Yaima said that people of the State must join hands in pleading the Court to expedite the case.
He also said that the case must be investigated by CBI.
W Shamjai said that suppression of people's voice by powerful sections of the society must be condemned.
He urged the public to collectively fight for their rights.
In his speech, Th Ibopishak stressed on the need to bring a change in the education system of the State.
