Imphal, March 20 2015 :
Manipur University Students Union (MUSU) has raised more questions regarding the controversial entrance tests of admission into various department of Manipur University (MU) .
MUSU questioned the admission of 101 students for MA(Manipuri) instead of 100 seats notified before the test.
Also questioned the way candidates from waiting list were picked up, stating that the HOD upgraded wait list sl nos 2,3 &6 in place of three selected candidates (SL No: 12, 46 & 53) who surrendered their seats, sidelining proper procedure.
When SL No 5 candidate from the waiting list questioned why SL No 6 was selected bypassing him, the HOD forwarded his name to the VC and thus the total selection count reached 101 .
MUSU also questioned the credibility of the explanation given by the HOD of Manipuri Department stating that the selection of 17 Scholars for Ph.D was due to equal marks scored by three persons (SL No: 14, 15 &16) and another was considered under ST category though he secured 1 mark less than the cut-off mark.
His name was taken off in the final results on February 28 after the VC issued the cut-off marks.
MUSU also questioned the role of MU's Vice Chancellor and Registrar as no action has been taken against HOD of Manipuri Department even after evidences of anomalies in admission process were produced before them.
Further stating that MUSU would be sending the related evidences and documents to President, Governor, and HRD Minister also to UGC Chairman, MUSU warns other departments to avoid anomalies and conduct retest if such had happen.
