Workshop on researchable ideas and methods concludes

The six-day workshop on "Researchable ideas and methods: Improving competency of social scientists" organized by National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) IDP at the premise of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroisemba, Imphal since November 15 was concluded yesterday.
Agricultural Economics, College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal Professor Y Chakrabarty and NDRI, Haryana scientist Dr Sanjit Maiti graced the closing function as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the function, Professor Chakrabarty stressed on the importance of applying social science knowledge in achieving the well-being of the farmers and mankind as a whole.
He said that social science should intend to help people and solve the problems of farmers and society at large.
Lauding the organizers for choosing substantial topics which are relevant to the society in the workshop, the Professor observed that the topics incorporate other disciplines.
The participants at the workshop have also shared their experiences, saying that they gained many insights from the workshop.
Altogether 38 faculties and PG and PhD students, including from the two colleges of Meghalaya took part in the workshop.
