A one day live-streaming of Laparoscopic surgeries over the internet was held at Shija Hospitals on Thursday from Shija's operation theatre with a viewership of 574 live viewers.
A release of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) informed that the first of its kind live-streaming of laparoscopic surgeries was held under the banner of AMASI and Stryker and transmitted by LapGuru.
During the live operative workshop, Shija Hospitals consultant Laparoscopic and Endoscopic surgeon Dr Jugindra Sorokhaibam, who is also the president of Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI), demonstrated safe Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (Lapchole) on a patient with empyema of gall bladder which is a severe form of acute cholecystitis or inflammation of the gall bladder.
