State logs highest new cases since Oct 23
TPR rises to 4.26 pc, two die, 53 CAPF personnel out of 83 new cases

Continuing the uphill trend for the fourth consecutive day, the state on Sunday logged daily test positivity rate of 4.26 per cent by reporting 83 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1947 samples
tested, while the last three days reported over 3 per cent positivity rate.
The number of infection on Sunday is the highest in nearly a month as the previous high of the same figure was recorded on October 23 with the daily test positively rate on the same day recorded at 4.02 per cent.
Sunday also reported two death cases, who were unvaccinated residents of Imphal East and Imphal West districts.
The two death cases took the total number of fatalities to 1962.Meanwhile, the active caseload rose to 682 out of which only 52 (7.62 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only seven reported fresh Covid cases on Sunday with Imphal West still reporting highest cases at 65.In terms of positivity rate too, Imphal West district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 9.4 per cent while Bishnupur district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.8 per cent.
Chandel, Jiribam, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul districts did not report any new positive cases.
So far, the state has recorded 95,518 positive cases and 1588 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 1187 new positive cases and 41 death cases out of which 436 new cases and 13 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 83 new positive cases included 30 civilians (12 male & 18 female) and 53 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (4), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (78).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (10), Imphal West (13), Thoubal (2); Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Churachandpur (1) and Tengnoupal (2) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 29 patients were discharged from home isolation (4), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (22) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,918 (general population - 1,20,500 and CAPF personnel - 4,418).Number of recovered cases is 1,22,274 (general population - 1,17,930 and CAPF personnel - 4,344) and number of active cases is 682 (general population - 613 and CAPF personnel - 69).The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent.
A total of 517 D-type and 122 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last.24 hours.
In all, 5644 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,69,817 including 8,33,484 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,732), Imphal East (27,709), Thoubal (9471), Churachandpur (10,173), Kangpokpi (2783), Tamenglong (3283), Bishnupur (9191), Senapati (2240), Ukhrul (2984), Kakching (6422), Chandel (2349), Noney (1072), Tengnoupal (1074), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (949) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (654), Imphal East (467), Thoubal (176), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (191), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (43), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,257 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,672 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,52,423 tests per million population against the national average of 4,51,568 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1947 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 4.26 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.90 per cent.
