17 Assam Rifles Organises Free Medical Camp

A Free Medical camp was organised by 17 Assam Rifles at Mukalimi village under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles on 10 January 2014.A large number of villagers from Mukalimi village attended the camp and were treated by the Medical team headed by the Regt Medical Officer of 17 Assam Rifles.
The people were diagnosed for a variety of ailments including respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, skin infection etc.
They were provided free medicines for these ailments and some of them were advised further investigations.
Villagers from Mukalimi and many other adjoining villages attended the camp and were diagnosed and treated during the medical camp.
Around 103 patients including gents, ladies, kids and elders were treated/diagnosed during the camp.
Aged people and kids were the majority of people who attended the camp.
All the elders, village council members and vill Headman of the villages in and around Mukalimi village appreciated the efforts put in by the Assam Rifles and they urged the Assam Rifles authority for such assistance in future too.
SOLAR LIGHTS DISTRIBUTED AT NKIO 'B' VILLAGE
It turned out to be an extraordinary day for people of Nkio B village when their otherwise dark streets were brightened by Solar Lights.
These solar lights were installed on 31 Dec 13 by 18 Assam Rifles as part of Op Sadbhavana projects.

Installation of eight solar lights in village Nkio B will go a long way in addressing the problem of streets lighting and safety of villagers.
The village council of Nkio B village appreciated the initiative of Assam Rifles and express their gratitude by calling Assam Rifles as true friend.
They also mentioned that selfless service extended by Assam Rifles will pave a way for greater association.
MEDICAL CAMP AT TENING VILLAGE
A medical camp was organized at Tening Town on 27 Dec 2013 post Christmas for the remote villagers as part of the endeavor to bring relief to these remote locations as was showcased earlier by organizing a similar camp at K Xekiye village in Peren district.
The camp was organized by 18 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 6 Sector.
The ARMO and his medical team conducted the medical camp as part of the normal scheduled activities that the battalion carries out for the people of remote villages from time to time.
Overall 312 locals out of which 80 males 142 females and 90 children including adults, women, new born and school going children from Tening village and adjoining villages attended the medical camp and received medical treatment, free medicines and benefited from the medical aid provided to them.
INAUGRATION OF VTC AT JALUKIE, PEREN DISTRICT
With the current era of modernization the need of the hour is to have a pool of IT educated youths at the nations disposal.
The demand and the employment generated for the technology sector is immense and the most subscribed today.
Based on the requests by the youth of Jalukie, 18 Assam Rifles established a Vocational Training under Op Sadbhavna.
A VTC fully equipped with computers, computer tables and other accessories was inaugurated on 28th Dec 2013 by the commandant.
Mr G Panmei, village chairman, Mr Kiasinlak, vill Head GB, Mr Tomy of Jaukie Town Youth Org Secy, Mr Joseph of Finance Secy, Zeliangrong Baudi, Nagaland and the village GBs were also present to grace the occassion.
The up gradation of the VTC has been appreciated by the local populace as it lends a new tool to the youth to enhance their carrier profiles as also enable them to seek employment in industries within and outside the state.
