NPF keeps option open, closes door to Congress

Keeping its options open in the coming Lok Sabha polls, the NPF, Manipur State has said that it is open for alliance with any non-Congress party.
This was disclosed by Manipur State unit NPF general secretary Athuan Abonmai.
Meanwhile, within this month, Naga Peoples' Front (NPF), Manipur State will announce the name of its candidate to be fielded in the Manipur Outer Parliamentary Constituency of Manipur.
NPF, Manipur State general secretary Athuan Abonmai said today that the party is zeroing-in on a name and definitely by the end of this month they will officiallly declare the name of its candidate.
Meanwhile, the NPF leader said all the 'wrong-doings' of the Ibobi Singh led Congress Government of Manipur will be exposed during the Lok Sabha election campaigns.
He said the Congress Government in Manipur has been commiting gross human rights violations with cases of fake encounters becoming very rampant.
"To hide these cases the Ibobi Singh Government has made the Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) non-functional," Athuan Abonmai alleged.
He alleged that the non-appointment of State Chief Information Commissioner by the State Govern- ment is to restrain the RTI activists in the State.
"We will expose all the corruption cases and then reported to the Centre." On the NPF's strategies on canvassing for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, the NPF, Manipur State said the district level political conferences had started last month and will conclude on February 12 .
On January 22, the NPF will have the political conference for Tamenglong district at the district headquarters and for Chandel it will be held on January 29 .
The political conference of Churachandpur district will be hed on February 7 and for Senapati district including the Sadar Hills it will be held on February 12 where top party leaders from Nagaland will attend.
