Lamka, January 13 2014 :
Prior to the commencement of a new academic calendar, the MLA of Singngat AC, GS Haopu today met teachers and educational officials of the sub-division seeking to revive the Government run schools within the AC.
Addressing over a hundred teachers from the schools that are under the ZEO, Haopu said his intention in summoning them was meant to start common efforts from all stake holders so that the dilapidated state of education in the border sub-division of Singngat could be revived.
He nevertheless warned them of initiating action if they despite his best intentions fail to perform their duty and had nothing to report by year end.
He said there are not many villages in his constituency without school but it's just that most of them under-performed.
His efforts are to make as many schools as possible to make functional, and also to ensure that those who are posted in schools without any structure are posted at the nearest functioning school.
This will, not in any way mean that the school has been shifted, he said.
All efforts will be taken to construct school buildings wherever there isn't any, and the posting of these teachers will merely be a temporary arrangement, he assured.
The Singhat MLA also encouraged parents to extend cooperation to his efforts saying, if they fail to trust Government schools just because they are meant to provide education at free of cost as was in some cases last year, all his sweats will be in vain.
Herein the teachers have also something to ponder with and asked themselves if they were indeed trustworthy, GS Haopu said, while calling sincere and dependable steps from the teachers.
