SH ADC chief sings paeans to Hengbung village

"With high moral standard, they show respect to the village leaders and elders besides showing love to one another," Sadar Hills ADC Chairman Haokholal Hangshing said referring to Hengbung villagers before adding that Hengbung village stands tall among all tribal villages of the State in maintaining discipline and functioning exceptionally.
The ADC Chairman was speaking at the Felicitation cum Thanksgiving ceremony of Hengbung village today to honour achievements of the villagers during 2013 .
The occasion was graced by Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills and Lenkhomang Chongloi, Member, ADC Sadar Hills as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively while Haokholet Kipgen, Chief of Hengbung and Ex-MLA attended the function as chief host and Rev Siehpao Hangsing as the Minister.

Haokholal Hangshing further said that the feats achieved by the villagers are showered by the Almighty while quoting the Biblical verse, 'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and success' .
Speaking at the occasion, chief and ex-MLA Haokholet Kipgen exhorted his villagers to aim for greater and higher achievements.
To its credit, Hengbung won the Best KVK Award of North East Region; the crown of the coveted Miss Kut 2013; District Level Friendship Cup 2013; Runner's Up in 1st Gorkha Tournament 2013; Mayangkhang Area Gospel Olympics 2013 and First Position in NAKSA Idol 2013 during the previous year.
Rev Siehpao Hangshing, Pastor Kangpokpi Independent Baptist Church performed the religious ceremony.
he felicitation and thanksgiving ceremony was also attended by Lunthang Haokip, EM ADC Sadar Hills; Seisat Kipgen, EM, ADC Sadar Hills; Roingam Thanga, Member, ADC Sadar Hills; Sahib Singh, Zonal Director NYK, Imphal; S.Gourakishore, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Kangpokpi; Kipgen Khanglai Kiloikhom President; Songtun Pa (Chief of Songtun); Leikot Pa (Chief of Leikot); Kipgen Bulpipa (Head of Kipgens) and various Church leaders and civil bodies.
Presentation of traditional shawls and mementos as well as various cultural dance marked the ceremony.
