TYA calls off bandh

The Thadou Youth Association (TYA) Joint Headquarters, Sadar Hills has called off its bandh along the NH-2 .
The decision was taken after a joint meeting at the conference hall of DC Office today.
The association imposed the bandh since yesterday midnight over an alleged 'unjustified' fare hike.
The joint meeting chaired by Somorjit Salam, DC Kangpokpi was attended by Addl SP(Ops), Kangpokpi, Lalminlen Misao, SDC(HQ) Shyam Kumar, TYA-Jt Headquarters Sadar Hills leaders, Kangpokpi-Imphal Medium Bus Owners' Welfare Society (KIMBOWS) leaders and leaders of various other student bodies who have expressed endorsement to TYA including KSO Sadar Hills, KomRem Students' Union, Sadar Hills and Gorkha Students' Association Sadar Hills.
After a lengthy discussion, the TYA-Joint Headquarters Sadar Hills decided to call off the bandh with immediate effect.
TYA Joint Headquarters Sadar Hills said that public transport fares have been agreed as followed.
Imphal to Motbung - Rs 40/-; Imphal to Saparmeina - Rs 50/-; Imphal to Kalapahar - Rs 60/- and Imphal to Kangpokpi - Rs 70/- .
It also warned that in case of violation of the agreement and understanding, TYA Jt.Headquarters Sadar Hills will take its own course of action while cautioning that it will also strictly monitor the fare taken by the concerned authority.
Meanwhile, the Association expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported its movement in public interest.
