5th MNCA Plate Tournament : RCT, CRAU pick up third straight win as KSDO earn second win

RCT, Malom and CRAU, Khamnam Leirak secured their third group stage victory in the 5th MNCA Plate Tournament being organised at three venues under the supervision of Manipur Cricket Association.
KSDO who suffered defeat in the hands of WYC, Thoubal Wangkhem also earned its second in the group C competition.
In the group A match of the day played at Moijing playground, RCT chased down 160 run target set by UCC, Uripok riding on Chabungbam Ishworjit's unbeaten 81 .
Laipubam Bhaskar Sharma topscored for UCC which won the toss and elected to bat first, with a half century (60 off 67 balls) studded with 4 sixes and 4 fours while Shyam Kumar Roy and Haobam Albakumar added 23 and 12 runs respectively.
Nickel Lourembam (2/16), Nongthombam Denin (2/25) and Nongthombam Sarojkumar (2/41) were the best bowlers RCT had today in this innings which also saw UCC getting 37 extra runs en route to 159/9 finish in 35 overs.
The chase went smooth and RCT had only to lose Mutum Sudhir on 25 before Ch Ishworjit smashed 14 fours on his way to unbeaten 81 total and his partner Sanjenbam Surej gathered 35 to make it 160 for 1 in 22.2 overs.
Diamond Moirangthem picked up the only wicket in this innings.
Ch Ishworjit who led the chase for RCT was named man of the match.
Elsewhere in the Group B league match held at Langthabal Public Ground, CRAU stacked up 200 runs losing all the wickets in 38.4 overs and held KCC, Kongba at 98 all out in 28.5 overs for the impressive 102 run victory.
Khagenbam Bimol was unbeaten on 91 off 110 balls as Takhellambam Kala managed 41 runs off 64 balls for CRAU.
Hijam Boba snatched four wickets in this innings as Samukcham Robertson and L Devan picked up two wickets each.
In reply, Keisham Mranojit did his best with 25 runs to set the early momentum but remaining orders fell cheaply to Lamabam Ajay (4 wickets for 18 runs in 7.5 overs), Lamabam Jotin (2 wickets for 20 runs in 6 overs) and Tonjam Sudhir (2 wickets for 12 in 2 overs) .
Kh Bimol of CRAU who shone with the bat eventually earned the man of the match accolade.
Meanwhile, in the Group C League match staged at Oriental College ground , KSDO piled up a total of 212 runs for 10 in 38 overs and restricted SSU, Singjamei Kakwa to 166/10 in 37.1 overs for the 46 run victory and third win in the group stage.
Nawaz Sharif hit a half century (52 off 60 balls, 6 fours and 1 six) for KSDO which elected to bat first while Md Abdul Razaque managed 38 off 38 balls.
Reehaj and skipper Tarique Aziz also added 21 runs each in the innings which saw Thoudam Rohit picking up four wickets for 31 runs in 8 overs.
SSU's Douglas and Shamurailatpam Deepankar also enjoyed three wickets each in this innings but their chase collapsed at 166 despite efforts from Sh Deepankar (34), Thoudam Rohit (33) and Chungkham Gugu (42).Md Karim led the bowling attack to fetch four wickets for 15 in 5.1 overs and Mohammed Shamir Khan picked up three for 33 in 8 overs besides Tarique Aziz and Sangomsumpham Lakimbur clinching a wicket apiece to add pressure on SSU.
Md Karim was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant bowling feat.
