Transporters meet IOC tender committee

Imphal, November 21 2017:
Representatives of the All Manipur Petroleum Products Transporters' Association met the tender committee of the Indian Oil Corporation to discuss several issues and demands at the North East Integrated Cells' Office of the corporation in Guwahati.
Earlier, in one of its latest tender notices, the IOC had decreased the transportation rate from that of 2013-14 .
Subsequently, the All Petroleum Products Transporters ' Association, which is an association of the POL transporters of the Malom depot, IOC, expressed its disapproval about the rate.
The transporters' association had also demanded more benefits for the transporters and pressurised that it would take up action such as strikes if their demands are not met.
At the pre-bid meeting Guwahati, they were called for airing their grievances.
A spokesperson of the All Manipur Petroleum Products Transporters' Association told The Sangai Express that they had attended the pre-bid meeting and- put forward its demands.
However, he said there were no signs of positive response from the IOC.
So, the representatives will now return to Imphal Wednesday and call for ah emergency meeting to discuss future action plan, he concluded.
