UN team in Mizoram

Aizawl, May 06 2014:
The United Nations (UN) Technical Mission team which arrived here yesterday in pursuance of the proposed Joint UN Mission project for Mizoram has begun necessary ground study work from today.
They, with important departments' officials, held discussion today over specialized areas for the proposed UN Mission project for Mizoram at 4 different places.
Discussion meetings were held at New Land Use Policy (NLUP) Conference Hall, Central Agriculture University Selesih; Principal Secretary, Labour & Employment office; Secretariat complex; and at Engineer-in-Chief, PWD office.
The discussion at New Land Use Policy (NLUP) conference hall began from 9.30 am under the guidance of LR Thanga Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Horticulture, E&F etc.
The visiting experts from 4 UN Agencies viz, UNDP, UNIDO, ILO and FAO held wide interaction with leaders of various departments of Mizoram Government like Agriculture, Horticulture, Fishery, Environment & Forest, Sericulture, Soil & Water Conservation, Industries, and Trade & Commerce in the meeting.
Another discussion meeting was held in the afternoon at the office of P.C.Lallawmsanga, Principal Secretary, Labour & Employment etc.
in which ILO, UNDP and UNIDO interacted with Labour & Employment, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Industries, Youth Commission and Hnam Chhantu Pawl.
