2nd spell of GM's Mandalay-Imphal flight successful

Imphal, November 25 2014:
After the epoch making 1st spell of Golden Myanmar's Mandalay-Imphal flight during November 2013, the 2nd spell of the flight was also successful with the rousing response from the enthusiastic tourists both from Myanmar and Manipur.
In the first flight of the 2nd spell, 64 Myanmarese citizens landed at Imphal International Airport on November 21, 2014 and 38 persons from Manipur visited Myanmar in its return flight on the same day.
In the 2nd flight of the 2nd spell, Gautam Mukhopadhyay, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar and other 40 persons landed at Imphal International Airport and the same flight took 33 persons from Imphal including India's Deputy Chief of Mission YK Sailas Thangal.

A member of the team who visited Myanmar in the first flight of the 2nd spell opined that such flights, if introduced on regular basis, could bring better relationship between the people of both sides, culturally and economically.
M/S KB Enterprises which plays a key role in materializing this enterprising project informed that two Chief Ministers of Sagaing and Kachin will board the last flight of the 2nd spell from Mandalay to Imphal on November 30, 2014 .
It may be worth mentioning that Govt of India has already granted International Airport status to Tulihal Airport, Imphal just before the Golden Myanmar's 1st spell last year.
Augmentation work of the Imphal Airport is being taken up in full swing to overcome the technical challenges.
The new global air route is a part of the bilateral air service agreement signed by India and Myanmar in 2012 .
