Free cataract detection camp

Thoubal, November 25 2014:
A one-day free eye-treatment and cataract camp was organized jointly by Shija Eye Care Foundation, Langol, District Blindness Control Society, Thoubal, Lions Club, Leo Club and Lioness Club of Thoubal, All India Youth Federation, Khekman branch and Loumee Marup, Khekman at Khekman Zila Keithel complex today.
A team of five doctors led by Dr Romen Singh of Shija Eye Care Foundation Unit, Langol conducted the camp wherein villagers of Khekman and nearby areas availed the free eye treatment.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the camp, Dr Renubala Devi, cabinet secretary of Lions Clubs of Thoubal, said that Shija Eye Care Foundation Unit would conduct operations free of cost for those patients who are diagnosed with cataract.
Out of 224 persons being examined in the camp, 43 persons were confirmed as cataract.
A cataract operation would be conducted on December 11 .
