DFO Kangpokpi pledges to conserve natural resources, freedom, integrity

As part of the Quami Ekta Week observation from November 19 to 25, officials and staffs of Divisional Forest Officer, Kangpokpi with leaders of local CSOs took conservation day and national integration pledge here today.
The pledge has been taken on the concluding day of Quami Ekta Week observation held at the campus of Divisional Forest Officer, Kangpokpi.
The function was attended by Robert T.S.Haokip, DFO Kangpokpi; SL.Nengthianhoi, MFS, Asst.
Conservator of Forest, Kangpokpi; Chonkam Kipgen, Chairman, Kangpokpi Town Committee; Seikam Kipgen, Chairman Kangpokpi Ward No.8; Range Forest Officer of Kangpokpi, T.Waichong, Motbung and Saikul including Forest Beat Officer of Kanglatongbi, Sapormeina, New Keithelmanbi and Kotlen apart from other divisional office staffs.
The Conservation Day pledge taking ceremony led by Robert T.S.Haokip, DFO Kangpokpi pledged to work with dedication to conserve and protect the natural resources while they also affirmed to uphold the laws enacted for the conservation and preservation of wild life and natural resources and also endeavour to promote sustainability with the best of their abilities.
Taking the National Integration pledge, they vowed to work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation while affirming that they shall never resort to violence and continue to endeavour towards settlement of all differences and disputes relating to religion, language, region or other political or economic grievances by peaceful and constitutional means.
It is noteworthy that, office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Kangpokpi has been apparently defunct for almost 20 years and in such a condition, all the office buildings including fencing has been in a pathetic position due to undernourishment.
Urging the officials and staffs under DFO Kangpokpi to work with determination and sincerity a visibly convinced DFO Robert T.S.Haokip appealed to the leaders of local administration and CSO to render cooperation and support to the officials and staffs of the department.
