VBPCP is now largest alumni association in the world

With over 3.56 lakh ex-students registered on its portal, Vidya Bharati Poorva Chhatra Parishad (VBPCP), has become the 'largest' alumni association of the world.
VBPCP is an alumni association of the Vidya Bharti Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sansthan (VBABSS), the largest voluntary educational institution of the world.
In a statement, the institution (VBABSS) said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance and the level of connectivity of any academic institution in his "Mann ki Baat" on November 29 .
It is noteworthy that Vidya Bharati runs as many as 12 .
830 formal schools in the country without taking any financial aid from the Government and provides Bharat centric quality education, it said adding that Vidya Bharati also runs informal fee-free 11,353 educational centres in the rural, tribal and slum areas.
Vidya Bharati has been engaged in this field since 1952, continued the statement.
Ram Araokar, general secretary of Vidya Bharati, said that thousands of the alumni are working in various walks of life and leading the society.
The Alumni Associations active in different cities and villages swung into action during the Covid pandemic to distribute masks, sanitizers, soaps, medicines, food packets and ration etc., to the needy people, he said maintaining that the alumni working in the administrative services, judiciary and various Government departments are reflecting the values in their work which they earned during their school days.
Araokar further stated that many of the alumni are also associated with the industrial, business, agricultural sectors and many others are providing valuable services to the society bearing big responsibilities.
Saying that the figure of 3.56 lakhs is not limited to the record, Araokar continued that the number of registered ex-students is increasing day by day.
The ex-students, apart from contributing for the construction of buildings, science and computer laboratories in their respective schools, have also taken up projects on environmental protection, AtmaNirbahar, Vocal for Local etc., he added.
