JAC looks forward to timely chargesheet against rape accused

The JAC formed against the alleged rape of a 29 year old woman near Yumnam Patlou Power Station after she was brutally beaten up, has warned of different mode of agitations if the chargesheet regarding is not submitted to the Court concerned by December 15 and justice is delivered to the victim.
Speaking to the media persons at Manipur Press Club today, spokesperson of the JAC, Tijen Nongthombam narrated mat the victim woman from Tankham Awang Leikai was allegedly called out by the accused Chandam Rabichandra (23) on November 19 evening on the pretext of elopement.
The victim was allegedly raped on the same day before she was beaten nearly to death and abandoned at around 4 am of the next day near Yumnam Patlou Power State, he said while demanding befitting punishment of the rape accused.He also sought help from all concerned to help in rehabilitation of the victim.
The SP Imphal East, OC of the women police and the investigating officer, when approached by the JAC, assured that the chargesheet against the rape accused will be filed within December 15, he said.
If the assurance is not translated into action within the mentioned date, the JAC with other organisations, will be launching intense forms
of agitation, he continued.
