Active cases drop to 81

Imphal, March 24 2022:
The total number of Covid-19 active cases in the State now stands at 81 (general population 79 and Central security personnel 2) .
This is against the cumulative 1,37,066 positive cases (general population 1,32,052 and Central security personnel 5,014) which includes 1,34,865 recovered cases (general population 1,29,860 and Central security personnel 5,005) .
With nine people confirmed positive out of 1,438 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, the State logged daily positivity rate of 0.6 per cent.
The positive cases belong to Imphal East (1), Imphal West (3), Thoubal (3), Churachandpur (1) and Tamenglong (1) .
Whereas the recovery rate stands at 98.39 per cent, the death toll remains unchanged at 2120 as there was no Covid related death during the last 24 hours.
Following recovery, six Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (3) and JNIMS (3) .
A total of 109 D-type oxygen cylinders and 24 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
At present, 296 (out of 300) Covid beds are vacant at JNIMS and another 122 (out of 190) at RIMS.
So far, 27,72,260 Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the State.
It includes 15,30,513 first dose, 11,76,839 second dose and 64,908 precautionary dose.
Till March 23, 50.27 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given both the first and second doses of Covid vaccine while 61.45 per cent has received the first dose.
