Covid claims two more, 14 test positive

Imphal, December 14 2021:
The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed two more lives during the last 24 hours pushing the State's death toll to 1992 .
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the two victims hailed from Imphal East and Kakching.
Even though both of them had co-morbidities, one was fully vaccinated while the other was not vaccinated.
On the other hand, out of 1495 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, 14 were confirmed positive at JNIMS and other testing centres which puts the daily positivity rate at 0.9 per cent.
The 14 individuals who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (4), Imphal West (7), Bishnupur (1), Thoubal (1) and Noney (1) .
Noney recorded the highest daily positivity rate of 6.7 per cent followed by Imphal East 1.4 per cent and Imphal West 1.2 per cent.
Following recovery, 21 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (7), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (9) .
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,25,549 (general population 1,21,116 and Central security personnel 4,433) .
This figure includes 316 active cases (general population 313 and Central security personnel 3) and 1,23,241 recovered cases (general population 1,18,816 and Central security personnel 4,425) .
The recovery rate as on Tuesday is 98.16 per cent.
In the meantime, a total of 279 D-type oxygen cylinders and 105 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
The cumulative Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 22,43,014 (first dose 13,04,316 and second dose 9,38,698).It includes 6094 doses administered yesterday.
Till December 13, 66.26 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 47.69 per cent has received both the first and second doses.
