Memo demanding removal of AR submitted to PM

The Committee on Mass Protest Against Assam Rifles has submitted a 10 point demand memorandum including removal of Assam Rifles from Manipur and taking up legal action against the AR personnel involved in the assault on Meira Paibi women on August 3 at Torbung Bangla, to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday.
The committee has also set the deadline of August 15 to fulfil the demands mentioned in the memorandum failing which intense form of mass agitation would be taken up.
A large number of women from different directions under the initiative of Committee on mass protest against Assam Rifles marched towards the Governor's bungalow using placards which read "Stop using Indian security forces against Meiteis" and "Go back Assam Rifles" on Tuesday afternoon but they were stopped by police personnel near the gate of Raj Bhawan.
Later, three representatives of the committee were allowed to enter the Raj Bhawan and submit the memorandum to the Prime Minister through the Governor.
Among the demands mentioned in the memorandum included - removal of Assam Rifles from Manipur, taking up legal actions against the AR personnel involved in the assault on meira paibi women, protection of Torbung historical site which is associated with the history, folklore and literature of the Meiteis, identification of the deceased Kuki militants before burying them at a proper place, non-acceptance of the attempt to bury the bodies of slained unidentified armed Kuki militants by Thadou(kuki) - Paite at Torbung Bangla, tracing the missing Meitei people and handing them over to the family members, Meitei people killed during the ethnic clash should also be allowed to cremate in Moreh, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi if the slained Kuki militants are allowed to be buried at Torbung Bangla, deployment of state forces in Moreh, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi, review of the order no OX-1/10/2020/ADGP(L&0)/713 issued by ADGP (L&O) and applying of 'no work, no pay' policy of the state government to those Kuki government employees who have not attended office since May 3 .
