"Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign launched in Chandel district

Chandel District joins the Nation in celebrating India's soil and valor, commemorating the Nation's journey of freedom and progress by launching the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign today.
The campaign was launched today at Heigrutampak Village in Chandel District by the Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar by unveiling the Shilaphalakam (memorial stone) erected in the memory of Sepoy Chara Nicholas Moyon, who made the supreme sacrifice during the Kargil War 1999.As a part of today's program held at the memorial site, the Deputy Commissioner administered the "Panch Pran Pledge" a solemn pledge covering the panch pran of the Prime Minister affirming the commitment to the country which was followed by a tree plantation drive.

Today's program was attended by ADC Chandel Md Firoj Khan, SDOs, DLOs, students, villagers etc.
It may be mentioned that "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign is being envisaged as a culminating event of the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav," the largest celebratory effort in the post independence history of the country, celebrating the 75 years of independence which was started on March 12, 2021 .
Till the end of June 2023, more than 1.9 lakh events were recorded out of which 1.6 were undertaken by the States and the Union Territories.
These events have witnessed massive public participation.
