PCC clinch MNCA U-14 boys tourney title

Imphal, March 03 2024:
PCC (Mayai Koibi) sealed the 3rd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament 2023-24 title with relative ease as they beat KSDO (Kiyamgei) by 157 runs in the final played at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband on Sunday.
Lucky Thokchom hammered 140 off 77 runs to help PCC pile up 248/8 after the Mayai Koibi boys decided to bat.
Rojer Laishram (22), Dilshan (19), Pebam Yoimaya (12), Leishangthem Nelson Singh (6 not out) and Simon Konthoujam (3 not out) all added to their team's total.
After their brilliant batting display, PCC followed it up with a lethal bowling attack spearheaded by Leishangthem Nelson Singh to make short work of KSDOs batting order in 22.1 overs for 91 .
Nelson dazzled with the ball with a five-wicket haul for PCC while Lucky Thokchom and Pravin Kumar picked up 2 wickets apiece to steer their side to a memorable title triumph.
Only Md Washim (24), Kh Firdos (15) and Mohammed Zuneid Shah (13) reached double digits in KSDO's run chase.
Earlier, Kh Firdos, Mohammed Soheb, Mohammed Gunbas and Mohammed Abu Sufiyan took 2 wickets each for the Kiyamgei side.
Lucky Thokchom walked away with the man of the series for his 15 wickets and 631 runs.
He was also adjudged the highest run scorer.
In addition, Lucky took the player of the final match accolade.
On the other hand, Preeth-son Arumbam received the highest wicket taker title.
He collected 26 wickets in 7 innings.
Kh Firdos was named the emerging player of the tournament.
