National Immunization Day: IPPI 2024 launched in several districts

The launching programme of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization 2024 on the occasion of National Immunization Day was held in different districts of the State today.
BISHNUPUR
At Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram, Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur launched the IPPI 2024 at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Kwakta for Bishnupur district today.
The launching programme was organised by District Health Society & District Family Welfare Bureau, Bishnupur.
Speaking as the chief guest, the Deputy Commissioner said that the launching of the IPPI 2024 is being organised to encourage and motivate the public especially parents and guardians of children between 0 - 5 years to come to the booths and get their children administered the two drops of oral polio vaccine.

For Bishnupur district, the Government is aiming to administer polio vaccines to around 20,000 children between 0 - 5 years during the three days immunization programme.
The District Health Society & District Family Welfare Bureau, Bishnupur has arranged 250 booths including 25 mobile teams for the campaign.
The immunization will also cover more than five hundred children from 47 relief camps in the district.
From 4 to 5 March there will be house-to-house IPPI activity to ensure that all the missed out children are vaccinated and no child is left unvaccinated.
The launching programme was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Bishnupur, Dr L Raichandra Singh, Bishnupur, District Family Welfare Officer, Dr L Kuber Singh, DLOs, officials concerned, staff of the PHC, Anganwadi workers, ANMs, parents and guardians of the children among others.
PHERZAWL
The IPPI 2024 was launched today at CHC Parbung by Medical Officer in-charge Dr Thanglienzuol.
Polio booths were arranged in all the health centres of the district including CHC Parbung, PHC Patpuihmun and PHSC Buangmun among others.
District Health Society, Pherzawl has set a vaccination target of approximately 1984 children for the nation-wide immunization programme.
The drive will continue with door-to-door immunization for the next two days.
SENAPATI
Joining the rest of the nation, District Health Society, Senapati organised Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization in observance of National Immunization Day to eradicate polio on Sunday at Traffic Point, Senapati.
The event was graced by Mamoni Doley, IAS, DC, Senapati as the chief guest and Dr Sumpi Percy, CMO, Senapati as the guest of honour.
On the occasion, DC, Senapati Mamoni Doley, stated that house to house survey will be carried out from March 4 to 6.The DC also expressed gratitude to all the district front line health workers for their relentless hard work.
The guests of the day administered 2 drops of oral polio vaccine to children present at the program.
Dr LD Shepei, DIO, Senapati was also present on the occasion.
THOUBAL
District Health Society Thoubal and District Family Welfare Officer Thoubal jointly organised the launching programme of IPPI 2024 at Rice Research Station Relief Camp, Khangabok under National Health Mission.
Held under the theme of "Let the victory over polio continue with two drops of life", the programme was attended by Ahanthem Subash, IAS, DC Thoubal; Dr Y Nokul, Chief Medical Officer Thoubal; Arambam Anilkumar, ZEO Zone-III Thoubal and Irengbam Bijaya, CDPO Lilong as the chief guest, functional president and guests of honour respectively.
On the occasion, DC Thoubal shared that under the IPPI 2024, polio vaccines will also be administered to the children at Lamding Higher Secondary School Relief Camp and Thoubal District Sports Complex Relief Camp.
Meanwhile, Dr Kh Trusty, District Family Welfare Officer shared that as part of National Immunization Day 2024, oral polio vaccines will be administered to children at various health institutes and health centres in the district.
The programme was graced by staff of the relief camp, ASHA and Anganwadi workers/helpers as well as staff of the concerned departments.
UKHRUL
Over 9000 kids were immunized with polio vaccine on the launching day of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization/National Immunization Day at Ukhrul District Hospital, Hungpung, Ukhrul.
Kengoo Zuringla, Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul graced the programme as the chief guest of the function and launched the three-day immunization programme in the presence of CMO Dr Kapangring, MS Dr Reisangmi, DIO Dr Pamza Luikham and other medical staff of Ukhrul.
While speaking at the launching programme, Dr Pamza said that 182 booths were opened in the villages to achieve the target of vaccinating 11740 children.
Dr Pamza mentioned that polio vaccines were also administered at Litan Sareikhong Relief Camp.
